Kuala Lumpur : Night Life

Night markets, or "pasar malam," are found all over KL: when you're living in a hot, sticky, tropical city, you quickly learn that night is the best time of day to come out. The markets are buzzing with people eating and talking, bargaining, and shopping. The night markets are also perfect places to find cheap, delicious snacks. Here, you can sample not only Malay food, but Indian and Chinese as well. A great Malay dessert that should not be missed is air batu campur, fondly called ABC. It's a sticky, sweet heap of crushed ice, covered with red beans, sweetcorn, and palm sugar. Nightlife in KL can take the form of fine dining with live music, hip gyrating in a dance club, or simply sipping a Martini and enjoying a leisurely game of pool.
